Commercial Unit Manager (shared) Mobility

GoAbout is a young provider of shared mobility services and is part of the Moveyou group, a consortium of green and innovative mobility service providers. Together, we have the ambition to build the largest and most innovative mobility platform in Europe and contribute to the sustainability of mobility.

GoAbout focuses on shared mobility and already has shared bicycles and electric cars in dozens of locations in the Netherlands, sometimes in a closed pool for employers and sometimes as an open service for any consumer. In addition, GoAbout is currently conducting small-scale pilots in the areas of multimodal route planners, resale of public transport services, and information screens for mobility service providers.

We are looking for a Commercial Unit Manager responsible for the growth of GoAbout.

Shared Mobility

About the Role:

As a unit manager, you are responsible for GoAbout. You will spend 60% of your time on commercial activities, focusing on growth. This includes further stimulating the use of GoAbout by existing business and private customers and acquiring new business and private customers. Additionally, you will oversee marketing, PR, and communication with our ambassadors.

You also have operational responsibilities; approximately 30% of your time will be spent on resolving emergencies and improving processes, with the ultimate goal of finding lasting solutions to make the service even more scalable and strengthen our relationship with our customers.

Lastly, you will spend 10% of your time on strategy. You will work with the MoveYou management on the strategic positioning of GoAbout, initiate and discuss proposals to adjust and improve the service, and justify necessary investments in people, systems, and vehicles.

Your responsibilities:

  • Sales to new business prospects (both direct leads and tenders) and account management and growth of existing business customers (including employers)
  • Management of the entire Engagement Funnel for end users, including awareness (marketing & PR), app downloads, account creations, and user engagement (encouraging active use of the app and vehicles)
  • Coordination with other internal departments such as finance (for billing & payment) and customer support.
  • Streamlining of service, including initiating solutions for emergencies (e.g., malfunctioning locks or a vehicle with a dead battery) and teething problems in software and hardware (vehicles and locks)
  • Coordination of partners responsible for maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of vehicles.
  • Development of management reports and creation of a data-driven culture.
  • Together with the MoveYou management, responsible for the growth strategy of GoAbout

Our expectations:

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in a commercial role Experience in, or at least a strong affinity with, (mobile) internet and/or SaaS services.
  • Experience in automotive or shared mobility and/or experience with mobile apps is a plus
  • Affinity with both B2B and B2C
  • Self-starter: proactive initiation & information and decision-making based on available information
  • Builder: you understand that the service is still in its early stages, and you enjoy shaping it further.
  • You thrive in a startup culture, where there is a lot of uncertainty and a product that is still in development.
  • Data-driven, good numerical skills.
  • You can easily justify a high-level cost/benefit analysis for an investment
  • You are inspired by the opportunity to contribute to a more sustainable world
  • HBO-level education
  • Available for a minimum of 32-40 hours per week Good command of Dutch and English
